Do Filipinos like old music? (1950s and 60s)
It's gotten really popular because of the Fallout games and the show, so I've started collecting and I listen a lot, on vinyl and so on. Is it some kind of sign of being highly educated? Do people listen to vinyl, and is the vinyl culture strong?

I'm afraid vinyl isn't really a thing here in the Philippines. But back in the day we used to collect CDs and cassettes.
No, listening to vinyl doesn't mean you're highly educated. Neither does overpaying for low-quality steak and cheap wine at expensive restaurants. But sure, people can pretend, I guess.
I'd certainly like to know how collecting vinyl means someone is highly intelligent. What I do know is that the music on vinyl was, and still is, far better than the techno garbage everywhere today.
Most people in the Philippines blast 'boom boom' music and techno meant for a certain party crowd. The music taste here is mostly abysmal 😅
Vinyl is objectively terrible. Your records get scratched up and skip. What's the point? Now I'm thinking of a stack of Sinatra records I once saw melting at a community yard sale in the 90s.
Not related to your question about Filipinos, but since you collect vinyl, you might find this interesting. My best friend and I once bought more than 6,000 LPs at an estate sale for $100. It was probably 2008, and we were both in our early 20s. There were actually more than 12,000 we were supposed to take, but we ran out of room, so we only took half. It was an amazing collection. Less than six months later, while I was away on a family trip to Mexico... my buddy burned the house down. Our dream record collection and recording studio, toast. I still have nightmares about it sometimes.
