I want to ask about something I don't know or understand. I can buy a car in Germany and drive it in Italy. I can travel anywhere in my car, even across the globe. So why can't I take my old motorcycle to the Philippines and ride it?

Pay up and you can

Of course you can. Just pay the 100% tax and the other fees.

You can, IF you're willing to pay all the import duty and everything else they'll charge you,, which by the way will be sky high, probably twice what it's even worth.. that's why you're being told to sell it and buy one here... Or don't listen, and PAY.

Maybe because the Philippines isn't a member of the European Union?

Because they can't make money on their own,, it's not a self-sustaining economy, they import more food than they produce,, it all comes from an extremely corrupt government system,, and yet some people still criticize the 🇺🇸 USA. The root of the problem is not investing in infrastructure… But the people are happy anyway.😉👍

I think most people answering here misunderstood the question. Everyone assumes you want to register it in the Philippines and not take it back home. But I think if you bring your vehicle from any country to the Philippines — say an expensive Lamborghini — use it on the islands for three months and then take it back to Europe, I'm sure you won't have to pay any extra taxes, and you can drive the Lamborghini in the Philippines with its German plates.
