Does the tropical climate make you feel like you're in a dreamy mental haze?

For those who moved to the Philippines from a cooler, temperate climate: have you noticed more brain fog, lower concentration, more mindless phone scrolling, or a general dreamlike feeling where the days blur together? Almost like a dreamy mental haze?

If so, what do you think causes it? The combination of heat and humidity? Something else? Or have you never felt that?

It's a scientific fact that heat slows your brain down. I do find myself fighting it.

I find that not working these days makes the days blur together.

Drink more water. Not the tap water.

Yep. It's called heat exhaustion and it's a real mental condition — you slowly go mad. It took me about two years to get over it. Things you should do: - Adopt the local routine. Don't go out in the sun, and wear long sleeves wherever you go. Absolutely no beach. - Stay inside under the AC. - Drink isotonic drinks and real coconut water every day. - Eat salty and sour foods like green mango with shrimp paste, dried fish, anchovies, etc. - Put ice in your beer and rum. - Never walk anywhere; take a trike and do everything very, very, very slowly. - Take bucket showers several times a day.

Are you unemployed or just bored? You post here at least three times a day.

Never felt it

Never felt that way, and never met anyone who did 🤔 Then again, I spent a lot of time in Brisbane, Australia, which is semi-tropical, so maybe I'm used to the heat and humidity.
