Getting a barangay clearance

I need to get a barangay clearance as proof of residence and for a criminal record check. Has anyone here done something similar?

I'd like to know what the process was like, what documents you needed, and how it went overall. I live in the BGC/Metro Manila area.

Do you mean a certificate of residency or a barangay clearance? For the certificate of residency, I just asked for it and got it the same day.

BGC is the strictest. Most Makati barangays you can get done with 500 pesos, and some just need Mang Inasal treats all around. From experience, a few in Taguig are the same :)

I got mine after living in Tarlac for about six months. Any ID works, but a passport is best. Honestly it was pretty easy, but my wife grew up where we live and everyone knows her. Being humble and being part of the community helps a lot too. Show them you want to fit into the neighborhood and I think you'll have no problems.
