Future payment

Consider yourself lucky; in Australia it's two liters.
It's free on the open seas.
One more reason to support free open-source software
When people support community projects, they only get better, because more people feel encouraged to contribute
There are plenty of good free alternatives out there. You don't have to use Adobe, and you shouldn't.
There are some good ones. I have Adobe Photoshop at work, but for image editing at home I use PhotoPea. It's good enough for most things.
Have you tried Affinity? It can be frustrating at times, but in my opinion it does some things much better than Photoshop (though if you rely on the 'neural' features, as far as I know Affinity doesn't have them).
Stuck on the Adobe subscription treadmill? I got off it recently. First, how to cancel without getting hit with charges: 1) Change your subscription to something like Lightroom, so now you're paying ยฃ5 a month 2) Now you get a 28-day 'cooling-off' period in which you can cancel entirely (it might be 14 days, but either way you can now cancel without a fee) Next, look for alternatives. There's a learning curve, of course, and I can't help with that! But there definitely are decent alternatives. Maxon Autograph for After Effects; Affinity for Photoshop; DaVinci Resolve for Premiere (it also does a lot of what I used AE for); Handbrake for Media Encoder; Audacity for Audition (not as feature-rich, but it has most of what you need for editing audio clips). These are just the ones I found for my own workflow, but I bet there's an alternative for anything Adobe you use
The most unrealistic thing about this comic is that an American company has apparently adopted the metric system.
Pirating Adobe software is always morally right.
