Should my friend who had a stroke keep up his long-distance relationship?
My friend, who's American, met a Filipina online. They've met in person twice. They're in a long-distance relationship, and his girlfriend was hoping he'd stay. He has no intention of marrying her.
Then he recently had a brain-bleed stroke. Her dad also had a stroke, and she's taking care of him. Is it fair to her to keep dating a guy who has no intention of marrying her and, given the new circumstances, can't go live there either?
If he's lying about intending to live there and marry her, he's a jerk. If she's willing to immigrate to be with him and he's completely open about everything, then it's up to her. A relationship should go both ways.
This is a relationship question.
It doesn't really matter, because long distance doesn't work. It's only a matter of time before it ends.
