John John is in his 50s now.
I saw this when I was about 5, so JJ and I are around the same age
I'd have been right about his age in 1974 too. I had a total flashback the first time I saw this online.

Anyone who watched Sesame Street (in the 70s/80s at least — not sure if they kept it after that) will see the pinball in their head and hear the song when I write: 12345 678910 11 12 ..

I remember hearing the Sesame Street intro song when I was 30, after almost 25 years. I hadn't heard it since I was 6 or 7, and it hit me so hard I started crying. It was instant time travel back to my innocent years. That show was special to me and it still is. I truly believe any kid who grew up with it can't be a bad person.
PBS is one of the greatest things our country has ever created
