Traffic was so bad the guys just got out and started playing cards
That's how easily guys become friends 😂
Judging by the haircuts, I think they know each other ^_^
It's one big worldwide broccoli family ^_^
I was once stuck in a que like that. After 5 hours I got out of the car, walked to town (only half a mile), bought soft drinks and walked back. The que hadn't moved. It finally cleared after 8 hours.
You've just shown how useless the extra letters in *queue* are. I think we could go even shorter and manage just fine.
English is full of silent letters — just get rid of them all.
Ain't nothing better to do
Back before cell phones, I got stuck in barely moving gridlock because of icy roads. What should've been a 3-hour drive took over 14. Anyway, since traffic was so slow, people would roll down their windows and chat with the cars next to them.
I was once on a freeway at night when traffic was stopped in both directions because the police were in a standoff with someone they'd chased who'd stopped on the freeway. People sat in their cars for a while but eventually got out to try to find out what was going on (this was before smartphones). Some walked to the front and got info from the cops there, some gathered around a tiny TV that someone with an RV brought out, and some started tossing a Nerf football back and forth between cars. On the other side of the freeway, where there were no cars, someone went skateboarding. It was a really surreal experience.
