Working in the Philippines is eating me alive

I took a job offer after having my doubts.

The people are kind and I like them, but the office is hard.

The office is all noise, all distractions. Distractions kill quality work. You just can't do anything good if you can't think with focus, and you get tired fast.

A supervisor, who's supposed to set an example and be responsible, has sounds and music coming out of their computer.

Some people take video calls WITHOUT EARPHONES. It drives me crazy. Since I'm a foreigner and it's not my country, I don't want to say anything, and it seems to be the culture here anyway.

And then there's the MUSIC. Not classical music without lyrics — pop music, which wrecks your focus. How can the people in charge of the office not know there are people doing difficult work?

It's hard to be productive. There are tons of distractions, you get tired faster, and you can't focus.

I think I'm out. It's been like this for a few months, but this week I had a harder task, and it was so much worse.

Sounds like you're just not cut out for that job.
