'Nothing to lose' doesn't even have to be a factor. People all over the world die in drunk fights like this all the time. The headline could just as easily have been 'American expat kills local in drunk bar fight.'

This is exactly why I don't go to bars and clubs. Lots of touchy, ego-driven, emotional guys out there. Step on their shoe or bump into them the wrong way, and jeez, an argument turns into a fistfight.

Alcohol is one crazy drug

Let me add this: never get into a fight unless you're ready, willing, and able to take it harder and further than your opponent. If I'm going to fight you, I'm ready to die and I'll attack you accordingly. Much better not to fight at all. And if I see someone being beaten to death, I'll step in. Too bad more of the people who saw this fight didn't feel the same way.
