Saying 'My Filipina' vs saying 'My AFAM'

What's the difference, and why is nobody outraged about this one?

'My Filipina' sounds strange. I've dated in a lot of countries and I would never say: My Chinese My Thai My Cambodian I only use 'my' for possessions or my pets.

POPULAR OPINION: anyone who calls their partner 'My Pinay' or 'My Afam' is a loser.

I couldn't be in a relationship where I get a label like some Pokรฉmon that's been caught.

Just a common phrase

I don't use the term 'My Filipina', but Filipinas talk about being Filipinas, call themselves Filipinas and attribute traits to Filipinas far more than anything I've experienced in any other country. It seems to be a big part of their identity, which may be why 'My Filipina' is so common.

Both are weird. If you understand the context of the slang, AFAM is also often used in a derogatory, 'othering' way
