My old aunt told me a story about a friend of her barber
There was an old European guy, around 80, who moved from Europe to the Philippines
Then when he passed away, she contacted his family on Facebook and by email asking for HALF of everything
They weren't married and there's no legal case at all. It's like asking a random millionaire for his house.
So funny to see people who know nothing about the law
Well, obviously? What else would a younger woman want with an 80-year-old? She was just waiting for the cha-ching payday.

Funny story, but I believe this happens a lot. The Filipina wife kicks out the foreign husband. The foreigner ends up on the street. And after pouring his lifelong savings into a house and lot, the foreigner seems to just accept it. But why? There are laws in the Philippines. Once you're married, everything becomes conjugal property, unless you signed a prenup of course. A foreigner can never claim the land, but the rest he can!
