As a Filipina, I don't like being treated as the “obedient alternative” in your argument. Filipinas aren't a personality type you can order to replace women who have opinions. We run businesses, raise families, work abroad to support entire households, and yes, some of us travel with friends too. If what you want is a partner with no life of her own, that says more about what you expect than about any nationality.

Marriage is a partnership and a two-way street. A lot of people have conflict early on, get divorced, realize their options at 40+ aren't great, and make it their goal to find someone more subservient. Usually that gets dressed up as “traditional” — someone who'll overlook their flaws or who has a different focus. Obviously there's no one-size-fits-all, but you get a fair number of people seeking (A/2)+7 who end up happy with someone seeking a MMMM.
