Planning to move to Palawan

Hi everyone! We're a mixed-race couple. I'm Filipino and my partner is European (both in our late 20s). We lived together in Australia, then became digital nomads and have been traveling around Southeast Asia. Now we'd like to settle somewhere in the Philippines with relatively fewer worries about typhoons and earthquakes. We've done some research, and Palawan seems like a good option. We'd love a quiet place where we can hike and walk along the beach, and avoiding spots crowded with tourists is a must. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Palawan is a good choice... I've been there too and I don't regret a single peso I spent there... El Nido is really great. I loved Vanilla Beach... but if you want a bit of a city feel... that'd be Puerto Princesa... Other good places in my opinion are Batanes, Ilocos, Cebu, Quezon province, and Bicol. :)

I'm from Palawan! Consider Puerto Princesa City, especially the barangays far from the city center. There are really nice, peaceful places where you can enjoy nature and get away from the crowds. It's better to have your own vehicle, but you can rent one if you need to. If you're thinking of living outside Puerto Princesa, also look into Narra and Brooke's Point in southern Palawan. They're worth a visit if you're looking for somewhere quieter. 😊

South of Puerto Princesa there are sugar-like sand beaches and the cost of living is cheap.. Narra!
