I got a Smart eSIM at one of the malls in Cebu and use it for local calls and data. Then on my iPhone's second line, eSIM #2, I use T-Mobile for international calls.

I use Airalo, but it can be a bit tricky to use.

For an eSIM you have a couple of options: Holafly, a website that sells eSIMs, or the CMLink eSIM app. I've also posted the link for iPhone eSIM installation. Personally, I got a Globe eSIM for my iPhone at SM City Cebu; just bring your passport. I'm not sure about Manila, but MOA (Mall of Asia) or somewhere similar would probably work. https://apps.apple.com/app/id6449178471

Spectrum Mobile with the international plan is only $40 a month. It works about as well as anything else in the Philippines. If you're a data hog, unlimited is $50
