We're heading to the Philippines in December, and my mother…

Hi everyone! We're heading to the Philippines in December, and my mother will be entering on a US passport with the standard 30-day visa-free entry.
We'll be staying in Boracay in December, and since our return flight is January 20, she needs to extend her stay by another 29 days.

Has anyone recently gone to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) office in Boracay to do the first 29-day extension in person instead of online?

I'm wondering whether that office still processes extensions, whether you need an appointment, how long it takes, and how early you can apply.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's done it recently. Thank you!

The 29 days can be done at any BI, no problem, but it's easier online. Just click visa waiver, not tourist visa extension, and it's a really simple process ✌️

The first extension can be done at the airport once you've cleared customs, or online. If you do it online, you're applying for a visa waiver, not a visa. If you go to a BI office, remember they'll be closed a lot over that period.

Yes, the BI on Boracay is quick and easy. It's at Station B, downstairs.

Note: The airline might not let you board if your return ticket is 60 days after entering the Philippines. You may have to buy a ticket out of the Philippines (a throwaway ticket), for example a one-way ticket to Vietnam or Thailand. You won't use it, but you NEED to show the airline a ticket out within 30 days of arriving in the Philippines

Isn't it possible to get a visa before you go? No risk that way
