Oh no...
"In the grim darkness of the far, far future... you still can't escape her."
But why DID they kill that robot dude I don't know anything about Warhammer :(
To give a bit more context. The 'robot dude' is a Psyker, a human with a psychic link to the Warp. Ever seen the movie 'Event Horizon'? It's THAT Warp. Faster-than-light travel basically goes through Hell. Being linked to the Warp lets trained individuals act as navigators through it. But that link also leaves them vulnerable to the hordes of demons, and worse, that live in the Warp. There are other side effects too. He was probably cybernetic because Psykers tend to have their eyeballs melt out of their faces, among other fun things. If the Psyker had been possessed, his powers would have ripped a tear open into the Warp, likely flooding the area with demons and Warp corruption. So he had to be killed immediately to avoid disaster. This also dooms the Psyker's soul to become demon food, but that was going to happen regardless. This is also probably one of the best and safest jobs a Psyker can get in the Imperium.
Okay, that sounds fantastic, like one small corner of a well-built universe. Any novels or other media you'd recommend for a noob who wants to dip a toe in?
The Eisenhorn trilogy is what got me hooked
A 40K meme? In this economy?
In case anyone wants to watch the original video, look up Astartes by Syama Pederson. The original was taken down, but there are re-uploads on YouTube. He also has a YouTube channel called Digital Bones, though he hasn't uploaded much yet.
Gameworks hired him. There's a new season coming later this year.
Well, that took a turn I wasn't expecting
