"No, not on my concrete, dude!"
If it were me, I'd just leave that as it is.
When my older brother was three, my grandfather poured a new driveway. While the concrete was still drying, my brother walked across it and left tiny footprints. My dad got annoyed and scolded him, but my grandfather was thrilled that the footprints would stay in the driveway forever.
We poured a new driveway too, and we pressed our dogs' paw prints in while the concrete was drying. We couldn't find the cat, so it was just the dogs. When we went to look at the driveway that evening, the cat had walked right across it. So we ended up with cat prints too!
Last year we had to put down our fifteen-year-old cat. A couple of months ago I pulled out the drop cloth I use when painting, and there were tiny black paw prints on it from when she ran across the freshly painted concrete.
I agree with your grandfather 100%. I think I'd smile every time I saw those little footprints.
You could have just left it alone from the start.
So karma sent a late fee.
Leave it as it is. Animal paw prints in concrete are a nice touch.
One time, when the concrete on the bike path in the woods near my neighborhood was still setting, my dogs walked across it. They're gone now, but every time I pass by those paw prints, I remember all the good walks we had together.
Well, it definitely left an impression.
