My dog is the opposite. If she sees an open car door, any open car door, she jumps in. Once my kid accidentally let her out the front door. I ran out right away to try to catch her, but she was running fast down the street. A car pulled over and the driver got out to try to help me. The moment she heard the car door open, she ran straight back, jumped into this stranger's car and wouldn't get out. After that, I learned that if she got out, I could hop in my own car and open the door near her, and she'd run right in. She's since been trained not to run out the front door and to come when called, but in the 5 years since we got her, her love of car rides hasn't changed. She'd rather go for a ride than a walk.

My dog is the opposite of the opposite. If she hears a car door open, she assumes whoever's getting out of any car is there solely to greet her and fuss over her, so she drags me over to say hello as they get out. Walking her through residential neighborhoods is a nightmare. It's especially frustrating when she gets confused about which car the sound came from, sits down next to an empty car, and won't budge while she patiently waits for someone who doesn't exist to come out. Unfortunately, most of my neighbors are lovely, friendly people who indulge her, so training it out of her is proving really hard.

When my dog's on a walk and someone comes out of their house to greet him, the very next walk he plants himself there and waits for them to come out and fuss over him again. Walks take forever.

Of all the golden retrievers my family has had over the years, my sister's dog Conor was probably the most beloved and definitely one of the quirkiest. This kind of passive resistance, flopping down and going limp, was his signature move whenever he didn't want to go along with the program, whatever it was. We called it 'Jello Dog', and in a 90-pound golden it's surprisingly effective.

Perfect. No edits, no music, the clip speaks for itself! Hilarious!
