Wow. That's one heck of a last-ditch effort.
Roots can be ridiculously resilient sometimes
And people can be pretty creative. Step one: cut off a healthy stinkfruit branch Step two: set it next to an old piece of bark Step three: ???? Step four: viral content
I had a Bradford pear in my front yard that took a lot of storm damage. One fall I finally cut it down and had the stump taken care of. The next spring, what looked like hundreds of saplings started popping up all over the yard. I couldn't figure out what was going on, then realized that pear tree was trying like hell to come back to life.
You'd better spread those seeds far and wide, or you're a terrible person
Jackfruit trees are pretty resilient and grow really fast. It's probably pouring the last of its resources into an undamaged part to branch out and grow new branches. We cut one down at my neighbor's place in 2022. In less than 2 years it had grown right back to its original height, and we're planning to cut it again in November.
Don't let Big Wood hear about this. People might start thinking wood grows on trees or something
I guess the fruit really didn't want to die
Too bad we harvest them and kill them in slaughterhouses every day That's why I'm a cannibal
