Does my outbound ticket have to be within 30 days of arrival, or can it be 6 months later? I'm applying online for the 30-day extension and I already have an ACR card. Once I'm there I'll keep extending 60 days at a time.
Thanks
Your return ticket can be six months out, but you need a ticket out within 29 days of landing. A lot of us buy a fully refundable ticket, say Manila to Vietnam. You'll see plenty of people recommend a service that gives you a throwaway ticket. I don't use it.
I've arrived many times on a one-way ticket or an exit ticket more than 30 days out. Nobody seems to care or look at your exit plan.
Your originating airline, say Delta in the USA, will check that you have an outbound ticket within 29 days of your arrival in the Philippines. That's because the airline is responsible for taking you back out if the Philippines refuses you entry. You can get a refundable ticket or a cheap one-way to Hong Kong. I tried that $10 fake ticket thing, and Delta in the USA said they couldn't verify it, so I had to buy a real one (no big deal). But if I'd waited until the day of the flight, I'd have missed it. I also suggest going to the airport ahead of time to get your boarding passes so everything goes smoothly at departure. Good luck
Why buy a throwaway ticket and waste your money when you can buy a fully refundable ticket and get your money back?
I couldn't fill out the eTravel form because my return ticket was 40 days out.
