American Passenger Overcharged 4,700 Pesos for Ride Between NAIA Terminals — Driver Fired
📌 On the morning of Wednesday, November 4, an American passenger who took a vehicle from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila paid 4,700 pesos, then reported to airport authorities that he had been overcharged. According to a Manila Bulletin report, the driver was fired and the fare was refunded.
■ What Happened
· The passenger felt the fare was far too high for a ride between two nearby terminals and immediately asked airport staff to confirm the regular fare.
· After the formal complaint, NAIA authorities launched an investigation to locate the driver and the transport company, and confirmed the vehicle was a Toyota Innova belonging to DRJ Transport, a company accredited by NAIA Transport.
■ Investigation and Current Status
· Daniel David, operations manager of DRJ Transport, admitted that the driver violated the airport-approved fare schedule and said the driver has been fired.
· Under the airport-approved fare schedule, the Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 fare is 2,250 pesos, and the passenger paid more than double that. The company immediately refunded the amount charged to the credit card.
■ Tips for Residents and Travelers
· Before getting into a vehicle at the airport, check the amount on the airport-approved fare schedule first, and keep your payment receipt.
· If the fare seems off, tell airport staff on the spot and ask them to check, as this passenger did.

Korea isn't much better when it comes to overcharging foreigners either.
