My U.S. passport is due for renewal in February. Can I handle it online, or do I have to go to the United States to do it, or can I do it at the U.S. Embassy in Manila?
I did mine at the US Embassy in Cebu.
We all renew by mail. Check "Click here to renew by mail": https://ph.usembassy.gov/passports I won't use Philippines Post. You prepare photos, fill out the form, and send it by courier. I used 2Go, which the embassy used to recommend. Many people use LBC too. You get both your old and new passports back. You have to transfer the visa from the old passport to the new one. Many people go to the Bureau of Immigration (BI). I work at night, so I've never been to the BI office. I also use the travel agency Toyota Philippines uses (Friendship Tours: https://www.visa.friendshipmanila.com). The agency handles everything for transferring the stamp at BI. It's convenient even if you live far from the BI office. Don't worry. Retirees who don't work all night and sleep during the day can explain how to transfer the stamp at your local BI.
Follow-up question: If my passport is about to expire and has a SRRV visa laminated sticker on it, what's the process for transferring it to a new passport?
Hello, just to let you know,, Passports become invalid 6 months before the expiration date,, You can't board a plane or enter the country,,
