12-hour layover at Manila airport (7am–7pm) — where can I get some sleep?

Given the timing, I don't really want to book two nights — what are my options?

Is there a day spa or something where I can get a massage and then just lie down and sleep for about 4 hours?

Or do I have to book a hotel for 2 nights (checking out around 4–5pm)?

Any hotels you've stayed at?

I'd call or email a few hotels in the area and ask about a day-use rate. Honestly, NAIA is one of the worst airports I've ever been to. You won't get much rest there, especially not inside the terminal.

Manila airport has sleeping capsules and transit rooms at The Wings Transit Hotel & Spa, on the 4th floor of Terminal 3

Right next to the airport there's a big complex of hotels and malls (Newport) that you can walk to over a bridge. But that's more for regular overnight bookings — they do have a spa, though. The more flexible option is The Wings Transit Hotel & Spa inside NAIA, but I think you'd rather get out of the airport.

I do that layover all the time. I just grab a $25 Airbnb as close to the airport as I can — probably by an SM — and get there early if I need to check a bag. No big deal.

Which terminal will you be at? That changes your options.

Ask the customs inspectors. They sleep at their posts.
