LANY Davao Concert Canceled Over "Safety Reasons"
Live Nation Philippines announced on Wednesday, October 28, that the "LANY: soft world tour" concert, which was scheduled for November 14, 2026, at the Crocodile Park Concert Grounds in Davao, has been canceled due to "safety concerns and production issues."
I thought Davao was supposed to be safe?
Right now the narrative the trolls are pushing in the comments on every one of these posts is "ticket sales weren't high," but didn't the DDS always say everyone in Davao is rich? The moment something happens that's inconvenient for their city, or goes against the status quo they've always pushed about Duterteland and Davao City, they're so fast at spinning a narrative.

It's not even a postponement, just a flat-out cancellation. Like, "Yeah, we're never going back there."
Turns out the "Singapore of the Philippines" isn't safe.
I'm from "Singapore" (Davao City) and I saw this coming. I have friends who work in production, and they say there are lots of reasons, but in short it's just not financially worth going ahead. Other places have good venues, but here it's Crocodile Park, which is probably less than half the size of the Quirino Grandstand, and when it rains the mud is terrible. Given that they're foreign artists, the financial side makes sense to me. On top of that, most of the time they'd have to bring in a separate production team, so logistics are a nightmare, and so on. As for the safety concerns, I don't know if there was a truly credible threat, but Mindanao's image is generally bad, and the elections (2028) are close, so I think something could happen.
