Hello, everyone! I'm originally from Kenya, but I've lived in the Philippines since I was a child. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and now I'm looking for work to support myself and my family. I've searched on LinkedIn, Indeed, and JobStreet, but I haven't found anything yet. Remote or hybrid work would be ideal, but I'm open to being flexible. I used to be on a student visa, and I had to change it to a tourist visa. Even though I have a nursing degree, I'm also open to non-clinical roles such as VA (virtual assistant), administrative work, medical documentation, customer support, or other entry-level remote jobs. Honestly, I'm not sure where to start. I really need a way to earn income, and I don't know which career paths are realistic for someone in my situation. Any advice, recommendations, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you're taking jobs locals could do, you won't find work. To get a work visa here, the employer has to prove they can't find the talent they need in the local job market. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you shouldn't come or stay here to look for local jobs.

I've lived here since I was a kid, so why do I still have a tourist visa? Filipinos are struggling to find jobs too, but I thought nursing was one of the easier fields lol. Maybe I should start a vlog like all the foreigners here do, you never know, it could take off. Is my Tagalog fluent yet?

People here in the Philippines who get a nursing degree are aiming to find work abroad. It's hard to build a future as a nurse here.
