Yeah, even if there's a breakdown on the back, that doesn't make the 33k other charges okay. The other charges are bigger than the actual service?! If a restaurant's service charge costs more than the food you ate, is it okay because there's a breakdown on the back of the receipt? Also, shouldn't other charges normally only be 11-12%?!

Some of the comments are indirectly defending Meralco lol. This happens to ordinary families too. Why is a deposit even needed?! Not everyone can afford it, especially when prices are rising, a super El Niño is coming, gas prices are going up, and people are barely getting by on tight budgets. Is this subreddit slowly turning into a club for the privileged? Even if they say it'll be refunded later, 32/55k is already 58% of the bill. It's literally highway robbery in broad daylight. The solution of 'just read the back and endure it' doesn't feed a family that has to pay such a high percentage for months, and even if they say you'll get it back later, the pain doesn't go away. And before anyone says 'just install solar,' that's the ultimate privileged perspective.

They privatize profits and socialize losses. It's theft. They're robbing us right in our faces, and the ERC doesn't offer any helpful solutions.
