Yeah, I should have been clearer. That's the number of women who *saw* him. I looked up how many people the average person comes into contact with per day in a big city and calculated from that. Out of all the women who saw him, the number of ones he actually met is probably much lower. Still, I could have worded it more clearly.

The number of people you come into contact with in a big city over a year is probably far less than daily count × 365. You may run into lots of strangers, but in the end it's mostly the same people you see every day, like you.

You don't even have to meet them, just being in their line of sight is enough.

Line of sight alone doesn't count. They have to be close enough for you to judge whether they're attractive or not. So passing someone on the street might count, but seeing them from a rooftop might not.
