I'm looking at flights from IAH to Cebu and would love some input.
We usually fly Delta to South America and within the US.
Does United still suck?
EVA Air is double what United charges for basic economy. Is it worth it? Economy is economy, you know.
Any other airlines I should consider? Maybe fly Houston to LA and catch a direct flight to the Philippines from there.
I recently flew EVA Air from Dallas to Manila for my Philippines trip, and I was really impressed. The food was great, the seats had plenty of room, and the flight attendants were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I've flown a lot of airlines in my life, and honestly this was one of the best flying experiences I've had. I'd definitely fly EVA Air again.
I've flown United from IAH to Cebu and definitely prefer United.
All US airlines are subpar compared to the top foreign carriers. But I'm a product of United's mileage program, so there's that. Still, IMO Star Alliance is better. I'll add that United's international flights are almost always better than its domestic ones.
Fuel is a bit more expensive right now, so flights cost more. If you compare with what you paid a year ago, it'll seem a lot higher. On our last two trips we used an airline called Starlux. It was a really good deal, with excellent planes and a nice short connection. From leaving my house in Phoenix to getting into my house in Cebu was only 20 hours.
