Does anyone know how to renew a British passport? Any help would be appreciated.

What the comments sayAI summary of comments

Most answers said it's easy to do online through the government website. However, getting the photo approved can be tricky, and some people shared experiences saying that transferring your Philippine entry stamp to the new passport can only be done at the BI main office in Manila. There were also answers saying you can have it done by leaving it with a nearby immigration office.

Yes, I just did it. You follow the instructions on the government (.gov) website, but the photo approval is a bit sketchy. There's a link below that lets you skip the review and proceed. When you're done, you send your passport and the application to the UK. That was a bit of a hassle, and I think the return shipping cost about £48. The real headache after you get it is that you have to transfer your arrival stamp to the new passport, and the only place that does that is the BI (Bureau of Immigration) main office in Manila. They'll extend you once for 2 months on the new passport, but after that you have to transfer it. Flying round trip from Siargao to Manila cost about 30,000 pesos just for one stamp, which was a nightmare. Luckily my BI contact stepped in and agreed to do it for me for 8,000 pesos, and it takes about 3 weeks.

Renewing online is simple. The only problem was uploading a selfie that would get approved. It kept getting rejected no matter how many times I tried. The photo I took at an instant photo booth in the mall passed right away. You can track the progress on the passport office website. They send the old passport and the new one back separately by DHL.

It's pretty easy on the .gov.uk website I recommend having it delivered to an address in the UK and mailing it from the UK to the Philippines
