How are you all preparing for the super El Niño that will continue throughout the year, you foreigners?
I started peeing in the sink and brushing my teeth with that pee.
We have 5 cows, a 1,000 square meter vegetable garden, plenty of rice, and enough water. We also have solar power with a big battery, 3 wells, and an emergency kit that purifies 1,500 liters of drinking water. That should be enough, right? 😜
The expected duration is 6 months, not 1 year. And it depends on where you are: an extremely dry area or a heavy rain area. Heavy rain isn't a problem unless you're in a flood zone. Severe drought is the bad one. I went through 6 months of it in 2015-2016. Collect whatever water you get. Keep showers short, flush the toilet only for number two, and save dishwashing for twice a week.
