Hi, quick question. For those who did their first extension online, how long did it take?

AI says 7–10 days, but that seems way too long for an online application.

I'd like to hear your experiences so I don't apply too early or too late. We're a family of 5 — does that make any difference to the application?

Do you mean the visa waiver after 30 days, or the first visa renewal at 59 days? Because the first visa renewal and the ACR-I card application have to be done in person at your local BI office If it's the waiver, it took me 5 minutes online. I did it about 5 days before it was due in case there were any problems

Two business days at most when the system's working properly. Back when I was on a tourist visa, I always extended as early as I could if I wasn't planning to leave anytime soon. In my opinion there's no real advantage to waiting. Can you imagine waiting until the last day, getting denied, and having to jump on a flight that same day?

Usually it's 2 to 3 BUSINESS days. Even if it takes longer, don't worry. As long as you can show your payments, it won't be a problem.

Thanks for all the replies. I tried to do it today and it says they can't find our records? I've sent an email — does anyone have any idea what could cause this?
