How did you all get your apostilled FBI background checks and get them to the Philippine consulate here in the US? It sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through.
Just FYI — apostilling your US documents is optional. You can also use the US Embassy or Consulate notarial service, which I found much easier and cheaper.
I used a service in DC. You get Live Scan prints at a local mailbox store, and they hand-carry it to the State Department. It took about 2 weeks.
Dang. I'm glad I went the 13A route for my PR visa. You only need an NBI clearance if you're already here in the Philippines.
For me, that was the easiest part of the whole process. Mine was done in 2 weeks. The FBI emails you the results — just print them out.
Assuming it's for an SRRV visa and you have a PRA agent — mine did it through Interpol. From memory, it cost about 900 pesos.
