How do you all send dollars to pesos?
What's the cheapest and fastest way with low fees? I'm leaving the country today and want to know how I can make the most of my dollars. Please let me know how to go about it!
Wise got the most votes, and some people say they send money straight to GCash with Remitly. Others say withdrawing cash with an ATM card that reimburses fees is the most economical option. However, some people shared experiences that transfers can get blocked if the recipient receives a large amount of money.
I use Wise. Sometimes I use Remitly too. And sometimes I send directly to GCash.
I use Wise. It's easy and fast, and the conversion fee is reasonable. When you send to the Philippines, make sure you first convert dollars to pesos in the app and then send. Otherwise the recipient has to pay the conversion fee. I didn't realize I was sending in dollars and did that once.
Whatever I use, they say it looks like fraud and block everything, so I just use crypto.
I send to GCash with Remitly and it works great. The rate is good and it's done in a few seconds.
If you have an ATM card with no foreign transaction fees that reimburses ATM fees, withdrawing cash is the most economical option. For international transfers, Wise is a good fit.
