How do Philippine "tambays" actually get by day to day?
We all know tambays are common in every neighborhood. They're the people with no steady job who hang around the streets every day.
With prices this high these days, how do they manage to eat every day?
I can understand leaning on their parents for now, but what happens when that safety net is gone? They can get by living at the family home for the moment, but what's the plan once their parents are no longer around? What happens to them after their parents pass away?
For those of you who live in these kinds of neighborhoods or see them every day, is there some unwritten rule for surviving as a tambay? They really have no fixed income, so how do they make a living?
