Let's be honest, there really are heartless government officials out there. People like that make life even harder for the poor. That's why being poor in the Philippines is so hard.
The situation breaks my heart. For once he asks the government for help, and they make things harder for him instead. I really don't get why public officials like that act this way. They act like they're royalty. No sense of service at all. They make life harder for someone who's already struggling.
They'll be laughing again once that person leaves.
That's because the people inside city hall are usually relatives of each other. In my town, most of the city hall staff come from just two or three barangays.
I think they should literally have to write an evaluation for every case they handle, and their bonuses should be based on whether the cases they were assigned got resolved. And every government department, especially the positions that deal directly with citizens, should have a customer service campaign.
