Hi everyone. I'm heading to Imus, Cavite next month, my very first trip to the Philippines. I heard I have to register at the local barangay when I arrive... my question is..., does that cost anything? And do I have to do it every time I move to a different province, even if it's only for a week or less?

You don't need to register at any local barangay. Someone gave you wrong info. Please don't hand out any important information about yourself... and never put your name or signature on any documents.

Huh? I've been here dozens of times over twenty years. Never heard of that 🤔

Just do eTravel

Never registered anywhere lol. Just fill out the eTravel app online before your trip and get on the plane.

Residency proof helps

You don't need to register at a barangay, unless you need proof of residency.

A visa is enough

As long as you have a valid visa, you can stay anywhere without registering at a barangay
