Deluded foreigners
I've been reading a few posts on this subreddit lately, and honestly it's pretty funny how foreigners get deluded because of their expectations and sense of entitlement. The Philippines is just a country with real problems of its own, like any other. Expecting developed-country-level accommodation in a developing country and then complaining that it's different? Different country, buddy. What did you expect, a free sex party where your money decides everything and you get cheaper lodging? No. It's a real country with good sides and bad sides, dealing with its own problems.
And before you come here to complain, do some research first. It'll save you a lot of time and money, instead of coming to Reddit to whine.
Personally I'd rather read posts complaining about how bad things are here than posts like 'Can I live here on $1000?' or 'Can I date a 20-year-old?' or any of the 'my Filipina...' posts.
Not surprised. Most of them are so entitled and jerks because they were losers in their own countries lol
Westerners complain about the Philippines as much as they complain about their own countries. It's just a habit, not malice.
Excuse me, this is Wendy's.
There are other developing countries with far better infrastructure for tourism. Why do all the restaurants in Alona share one toilet that none of them will clean or fix? To wash your hands you have to go outside and turn on a faucet next to the building, and soap is out of the question. Thousands of people pass through there every day, and the answer is 'it's the Philippines' so walking E. coli spreading everywhere is fine. Not pointing out the negatives just means you have crab mentality and want to keep everything bad as it is. Luxury and a decent experience are different things... Sorry if wanting a clean toilet sounds too entitled. I might not care either if I was drinking Tanduay.
