I've lived in the Philippines for over eight years and have finally found something I can't stand: ants.
I spent days looking for where the little ants were coming from and couldn't find it.
I figured the dog must have brought something into the bedroom, dropped it under the bed, and that's what attracted the ants.
When I pulled the bed out, there was an ant nest in the wall behind it. I sprayed it and told my wife to wait 15 minutes.
When I got back, my wife had already cleaned up and was getting bitten by the ants.
Since we'd just switched internet providers, I had put the new router in another room and there was an empty outlet, so I decided to rearrange the bedroom furniture before my wife put the bed back.
Okay, I also sorted out where the devices and power strips should go.
It's much better, and I can also turn off the power strip separately for the things I only want on when I need them.
Spray only works on the spots where you spray it. The key is to get rid of the queen ant and her workers. Boric acid takes a while, but I've been getting rid of ants for 30 years. It takes about 3 days to get rid of the culprits. If you kill the worker ants too quickly, the queen will abandon the nest and move, and you'll have to start all over again.
I think the Philippines wasn't formed by volcanoes but is one giant ant colony with over 7,000 islands. When I make corn bread muffins, I have to float the bowl in water, or within five minutes the ants get in. But all the snacks have to go in the fridge. Once they even got into the modem and burned it out. Try convincing PLDT to give you a new modem, saying the ant colony made it its home and the modem is defective 😁😁🤣🤣
Ants are your friends. They eat up all the decomposing stuff lying around the house. Without ants, you'd have to fight mold, which is actually harmful to you and your family. Ants come, do their work, and leave. Just leave them be, they're cleaning your house. Flies, on the other hand, are disgusting and annoying. I sit on the patio and swat as many as I can with a fly swatter. Then I pile them all in one corner, and the ants come and carry off the carcasses. I feed the ants. They're my friends.
Search for Ant Bait on Lazada. It comes in a pack of 50. It works pretty well!
