When you fight with your spouse, do they switch back to…

When you fight with your spouse, do they switch back to Filipino or not? Hahaha! That's exactly where we are right now. In my case, no words. Just things flying. Hahahahaha! The first thing I learned in marriage was to be open about what makes me angry. It's a struggle. Every now and then I slip and just start punching or throwing things. A small thing turns huge! Hahaha! Communication is key. The funny thing is I'm the talkative one of us two, but I go totally quiet when I'm angry. He's the opposite. And now we're almost at 17 years. Hahaha!

P.S.

I didn't mean to stir things up. Our married life is fun and healthy. Don't worry. Haha! When I said punching, I didn't mean each other. Haha! And throwing things doesn't mean breaking things. Haha! Sorry for giving the wrong impression. I meant it lightly, and didn't think it could sound dark to some people. No, sorry, that's not my life. Hahaha! Really, so sorry.

This isn't a marriage counseling group 🤪 But yes, my wife goes silent, for days 😆

I'm with a man who used to yell every time we fought. I'm a very calm person. I don't throw things, and I don't think you need to raise your voice to make a point. I kept telling him this isn't how we do things in my family, but he kept doing it. Until one day I got so fed up that I went to the kitchen, filled a big glass with water, and threw it across the room toward him. The glass shattered right in front of him. He looked at me in shock. Then I calmly said, 'Next time, I won't miss.' That was three years ago. I haven't heard him raise his voice at me since. You don't mess with the eldest daughter of an Asian family. Lol. Jokes aside, I believe respect is the bare minimum in a marriage. You can disagree with me, be angry with me, even be disappointed in me. But you don't get to intimidate me just because you're angry. Marriage is a partnership, not a contest over who can be louder.

Congrats.. you're in a toxic relationship. There's no reason to be throwing things or getting physical.

No. I don't use my own language, it's rude if I do. We talk like grown-ups. 25 years married and counting.

Who's the Filipino?

Are you the Filipino, or is your wife? Surprisingly, no mention of 'tampon'
