Bangladesh's extremely dangerous railway crossing.
Fair enough, that was the most unexpectedly anticlimactic ending I've seen today.
Sorry for getting your hopes up, buddy.
I literally said "oh please" out loud when I saw that lol
But... what if the trains were really running on the same track? What would happen?
They'd be going way faster!
That's a track inspection vehicle. If it's up there, it means other trains are blocked from using that line.
That's the charm of South Asia - hardly anyone shows up on time when everyone's in a hurry.
That's why everyone's in a hurry :)
Those guys are track inspectors - that guard's whole job and life really depended on keeping the road blocked!
As a railway veteran, watching someone stand between the rails to stop a train almost makes me sick... Even with a train like that. We were taught to never, ever stand inside the rails. I've done plenty of dangerous things around trains, but once you've seen a freight car silently appear right behind you in the dark fog, you understand that the things on the tracks aren't always loud. The chilling feeling of realizing that something hundreds of times heavier than a car could have just crushed me is terrible.
