Costco pumpkin code
It's an old code, but you're right, sir.
That's the password for our company's nursing room.
Oooh, nice.
I bought a pumpkin at Costco today. It had no barcode, so I had to radio in the number, and the employee on the other end just knew it by heart — "80085"
Anyone who's worked produce at a grocery store knows a few produce codes by heart. One is 80085 for pumpkin, and another is 4011 for banana. One's for the joke, the other is because bananas are the top-selling produce item.
I've never worked at a grocery store, but I know 4011 by heart. My dad used to work there.
I know 4011 too, and everyone says it whenever produce codes come up lol
Those 5-digit ones are Costco-only. PLUs are 4 digits and start with 4 or 3, and organic ones can have a 9 in front. 4011 banana, 4062 cucumber, 94131 organic Fuji apple. My go-to for quickly checking whether a scale loaded the PLU file properly was 3440 pomegranate, because it was almost at the end of the database file our company used. For some reason it went 94xxx, 04xxx, 93xxx, and finally 03xxx. The pumpkins I remember from way back are decorative ones: 4734 mini pumpkin, and 4735 a big one like for carving. Sweet, baking pumpkins start with 3. 3134? Somewhere around there.
Costco missed a chance to give that code to Melon 👀
