Mobile Phone Import Duties
I want to import a mobile phone, but I'm confused about the final cost of importing it, meaning the total cost including duties when it comes in.
I'm considering two phones. One costs about $550 and the other about $1,000. Apart from DHL Express fees, I'd like to find out how much duty will actually be charged when bringing a phone into the Philippines.
If it's coming from the US, I'd use Johnny Air. The taxes are included in the amount you pay when it arrives here, and the price is reasonable.
The Apple Philippines website has free shipping and no taxes.
If the sender adjusts the declared value to stay under the 10,000 peso small-value exemption, it should be fine.
Why not just buy from Lazada, TikTok, or Shopee here? There's no shipping fee or duties.
