Can't come to the door right now
A real salesman would have waited and sold that guy a new contract.
If the first guy doesn't seem interested: โCould I speak to your husband?โ
Once after I knocked, a guy just yelled โcome in!โ I called back, โyou don't know me.โ โThat's okay, I have a gun,โ he answered.. So I went in and found him, and he did have a gun. I gave my pitch and we had a good chat, but sadly, no sale..
What did he say at the end? โColdโ? Then something something โin a bitโ?
It's โSay nuttin bro in a bitโ - meaning say no more, bye.
I think it was something like โhaven't heard that one yetโ or โhaven't heard that one in a while,โ but I'm not sure.
My favorite part is the part where I couldn't understand what they said, plus OP's vague answer.
For future viewers (not an exact transcript): The guy ringing the doorbell is a telemarketer/scammer offering the homeowner a lower gas/electric rate The homeowner says he can come to the door once his boyfriend gets the strap-on out of his ass Telemarketer: โBrutal,โ and walks off.
In other words, the homeowner told him to get lost and the salesman got the message.
The British are just so much wiser than us. You could use this on every door-to-door salesman, campaign volunteer, and Bible thumper... Thanks for the tactic, mate
