Slowness and Convention

Everything is so slow. It feels like people are competing to see who can be slower. It shouldn't take 5 minutes per person at the cashier, but it's only like this in the Philippines. Other Asian countries aren't this slow. Truly, I don't mind if you scroll TikTok, chat, or play games while working. I just want to pay for my drink, leave, and never be bothered again, but Filipinos seem to enjoy dragging out that moment, and it's painful for both of us.

Absolutely poverty level. I'm from a poor neighborhood in the US and have traveled all over the world, so I've seen all sorts of things, but I never saw naked kids begging on a busy street corner until I came to the Philippines.

Noisy

People are so loud and inconsiderate. Playing mobile games at full volume on the café terrace, or starting karaoke at 5:30 in the morning.

Money and family

A society where mooching off others has become normal. They're always asking to borrow money and never pay it back. No respect and so shameless!!

Food

Cutting meat with a spoon and fork.
