A baby seal waits every morning to meet the San Diego surfers. It climbs onto their boards and rides the waves together with them.
Many shark attacks on surfers happen because the shark looks up from below and mistakes the person for a seal (wide board, awkwardly flailing arms and legs, etc.) Just wait until the shark realizes there's a real seal on the board.

This isn't funny, it belongs on r/awwwww.
It'll be funny once he starts turning into Neil.
Every time I see it, I'm amazed that animals clearly feel that humans can empathize with them (or at least could), and that they like being around us.
I wish people were better. Giving wild animals a wrong impression of humans could be harmful to them.
These comments are funny. They're just what edgy middle schoolers say. Nature is seriously terrifying. Humans aren't the only ones who can be cruel. Orcas will kidnap whale calves from their mothers, torture seals without killing them even when they don't eat them, and even stun sharks and eat them alive. Just look at how a cute, cuddly house cat behaves when it finds a mouse. Nature is seriously terrifying. Baby animals get torn to pieces, insects are eaten alive or dissolved by plants. Footage has even been captured of other primates waging war against each other. Humans can be awful, but it's not a trait unique to us.
If I'm out in the ocean and a seal tries to climb onto my board, I'll paddle to shore at full speed, wondering what it's running from.
Just wait till he gets bigger!
Even when a puppy grows up, it'll probably still forget how big it is and try to climb onto your lap, just like this.
