To parents whose children hold both a Philippine passport and a foreign passport: my son has a Philippine passport and an Australian passport (he was born here in the Philippines). When we leave the country, we use the Philippine passport, and when we go to Australia, we enter and exit using the Australian passport. How do you handle this?

My question is: since he'll leave the Philippines on his Philippine passport, will the immigration officer ask for an Australian visa?

When you go through Philippine immigration, show both passports. It also helps you avoid paying the Philippine departure tax. When you arrive in Australia, show your child's Australian passport. When you come back to the Philippines, do the reverse. It's really simple. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm a dual citizen of the US and the Philippines. When entering or leaving the Philippines, I show both passports. On my US passport they stamp it and write "PP" in the visa section, meaning Philippine passport. When entering or leaving the US, I only show my US passport.

I think they'd want to see the exit stamp from your previous country or the country you departed from. You can't just appear out of nowhere, can you?

Apply for dual citizenship. Then Philippine immigration will recognize both of them..
