Dean Allegedly Beats Dog on Angeles University Campus โ€” Police Investigating, CHED Demands Explanation

๐Ÿ“Œ On Monday, October 5, a video circulated on social media showing a man, identified as a college dean, beating a dog inside the Systems Plus College Foundation (SPCF) campus in Angeles City. The Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) has launched an investigation, and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has also asked the school for a written explanation from the employee involved.

ยท The animal shelter Facebook page 'Noah's Ark Dog and Shelter' posted the video, stating that the incident took place inside the school.
ยท Claims also surfaced on social media that the injured dog was placed in an empty water drum, though this claim remains unverified.
ยท The name of the dean in question has not been released.

โ–  Investigation and Current Status
ยท Carmelo Lazatin Jr., Representative of the 1st District of Pampanga, urged the police to identify the person responsible and file charges within 72 hours. He stated that if proven true, it would be a violation of the Animal Welfare Act of 1998.
ยท Representative Lazatin also sent a letter to CHED requesting an investigation, and CHED instructed the school to submit a written explanation from the involved employee within three working days.
ยท The school stated that it "takes the matter seriously," has initiated an internal investigation, and will take action in accordance with relevant laws and school policies.
