Hi everyone, I'm American and I'm still in the US right now, but I'm planning to go to the Philippines in June. We're planning to have our wedding on Negros Island in July 2027... Does anyone have advice on what the process is like? We've of course done our own research, but we may have missed something. What do we need to do before and after arriving in the Philippines, and before the wedding? I'm going there with the intention of living there.

These were the basic requirements at Angeles City Hall (or at least they were when I did it).

Get 2 copies each of your birth certificate and, if applicable, your divorce decree apostilled. As soon as you arrive, go to the embassy and get the affidavit showing you're single. You need an appointment. If it applies, do the marriage counseling as soon as possible too. Several things have waiting periods. Double-check everything.

Give yourself 2 months to be safe. Getting married here isn't easy
