3,000-won kimchi stew.
By current Korean price standards, no matter how cheap you look all over the country, you can't find kimchi stew for under 6,000 won. The average is 8 or 9,000 won, and there are countless 10,000-won kimchi stews.
Yet it's 3,000 won!! This place is a kimchi stew restaurant run with sponsorship from a Catholic priest. A restaurant called Cheongnyeon Bapsang Mungan.
The kimchi is also donated. The part-time workers are also volunteers. That's how it's possible.
Ordering the 3,000-won kimchi stew and adding a 1,000-won sausage topping. Rice is all-you-can-eat. Even though it's 4,000 won, the taste is high-standard, too. Plus, card payments are accepted.
You just eat with gratitude, and if you hand over a 10,000-won bill, you get plenty of change back.
